NN DNA is open for male NN
but there are others that join the group
We also have 2 of Surname Trotter that have joined the group and match Nisbet of that Ilk
these are not included in our statistics
early in the project some did a retest and instead of using same kit number they were given a new so represented twice there were 3 retests taken

statistics Oct 2012 98 tested and waiting for 2 results
17 tested to Haplo R1b1a2a1a1b NN of that ILK Group DNA1
1 tested to Haplo R1b1a2 x possibly NN of that Ilk-matched on 12 markers level

28 tested to R1b1a2a1a1b4 Northern Ireland Haplo Group DNA 2

27 tested to Haplo R1b1a2a1a1a NN of Greenholm Braidley and Haig Ayrshire Group 3
1 tested to Haplo G by a female NN ancestor of Greenholm Braidley and Haig Ayrshire

The Nesbitt-Nisbet Society is sponsoring a DNA testing of family lines to determine
if and who we may connect with a common ancestor.

DNA testing is very accurate and is a supplement to all the usual research methods.

This is a simple saliva test which is done by you in your home, and there is NO medical information given from this type of testing.

We recommend the 37-marker test as it is the best available and will accurately indicate how close you are connected to the other Society members.

Since only the men have the Y chromosome,
it is easier, cheaper, and more accurate to test them.
Women must attempt to find a male Nesbitt relative for testing
and volunteer to pay for the kit.
The volunteer's DNA must be from an unbroken line of male Nesbitts.

Information and prices
https://www.familytreedna.com/products.aspx

if you apply through the NN project see below you get the group rate

For how it is done
https://www.familytreedna.com/dna-test-kit.aspx

It will because we have documentation for 2 of the groups
Tell you if or if not you have a common ancestor with Nisbet/Nesbit of that Ilk
Tell you if or if not you have a common ancestor with Nisbet/Nesbit of Greenholm

DNA testing will tell you what group you belong to
And if there are others in same group
The group all have a common ancestor

For groups we have up until now you can see
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/nes ... n=yresults

If you want to get the test and join the project
Just go to this link and request to join our DNA project.

https://www.familytreedna.com/

Type in NESBITT into the Surname Search Box.
Click on NESBITT link for our project.
Fill out "Join Request" and we will get back to you.

We are doing the Male Y-DNA-37 marker tests.
you pay by credit card.
